Ramona Burress, PharmD, is a recognized leader in the fields of healthcare delivery, drug development and community engagement. She currently holds the role of Head of Patient Engagement and Insights at Takeda Pharmaceuticals within the Center for Health Equity and Patient Affairs (HEPA). With over two decades of experience as a licensed clinical pharmacist, Ramona has consistently driven positive patient outcomes and promoted equity in healthcare. Before joining Takeda, she made significant contributions as the Director of Diversity & Inclusion in Clinical Trials at Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. Her extensive medical and business knowledge was honed during her time as a Healthcare Specialty Supervisor at Walgreens Pharmacy, where she diligently served patients with complex health conditions.
Ramona’s career journey through healthcare has been marked by her ability to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and the individuals who stand to benefit from it. She understands the profound impact of social determinants of health (SDOH) on patient experiences and outcomes.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Ramona is deeply committed to her community. She holds executive board positions with several nonprofit organizations, reflecting her dedication to creating positive impacts on various aspects of community well-being.
